Astronomy, Differently: The History of Distance Measurements in Astronomy

I had long wanted to share my passion: Astronomy.

I wanted to do it with a different approach... Not just an astronomy where we marvel while looking through a telescope, but an old-fashioned kind of astronomy, almost without instruments...

I’ve always admired the ingenuity of astronomers from the past, who had nothing but their eyes, and yet...

...and yet they calculated the length of the year, they could distinguish planets from stars, they knew the diameter of the Earth, the size of the Moon, the Earth–Moon distance, the Earth–Sun distance, and many other things besides...

But how did they do that?
