About the Author

Boris Ioffe is Professor of Physics at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics (ITEP), Moscow. He received his PhD in 1952 from Kurchatov Institute, and Professorship at ITEP in 1962. Currently he is a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). In 2009 he received I E Tamm Prize of RAS.

B Ioffe has authored the books Quantum Chromodynamics (jointly with L N Lipatov and V S Fadin), Cambridge University Press, 2010 and Without Retouching, Phasis, 2004.
