Attitude of University Teachers towards ICT: Computer Competency , Computer Anxiety

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become common place entities in all aspects of life.The use of ICTs in education lend itself to more student-centered learning settings and often this creates some tensions for some teachers and students.But with the world moving rapidly into digital media and information, the role of ICT in education is becoming more and more important and this importance will continue to grow and develop in the 21st century. ICTs are increasingly utilized by higher education institutions worldwide. ICTs in higher education are being used for developing course material; delivering content and sharing content; communication between learners, teachers and the outside world; creation and delivery of presentations and lectures; academic research; administrative support, student enrollment.This book, therefore, provides a beneficial tool to study university teachers' attitude towards ICT through different lenses of variables.Moreover,the effect of computer competency and computer anxiety on teachers' attitude towards ICT are studied.

Dr.Ziba Nikkhah Far is a 25-year experienced teacher at Tehran Education Organization of I.R.IRAN. She obtained her Ph.D degree from Panjab University,Chandigarh,INDIA, in 2013.Her main research interests are information and communication technology,computer competency,computer anxiety,educational technology usage and educational planing.
