The stress and anxiety which performers experience at auditions and concerts can be managed through the use of many and varied techniques, here explored in a comprehensive book by oboist-composer Stuart Dunkel. Written as a pract ical guide for immediate use, in language free of confusing psychological terminology, The Audition Process offers a compendium of approaches as presented by other musicians, psychologists, and athletes.

Review
This book deserves to be included in the essential reading list of every serious musician not only for successful auditions but also for successful living. This book would be appropriate as a textbook for a music pedagogy course. --Sang-Hie Lee, Council for Research in Music Education Bulletin no. 107, 1991
Dunkel has made a significant contribution in an area that has need of greater insights. --Frank R. Wynne, Opera Guide, Apr/May 1990
