No jacket. blue cloth covers with silver lettering. Wear to edges and spine. Spine is somewhat sun faded. Solid binding but has a visible split in the back inside the back cover. Clean interiors pages. Previous owner's name written on first page. 342 indexed pages. 6.5" X 9" X1.5" 12 color plates reproduced from Audubon's "Birds of America:. Includes additional black and white illustrations by James MacDonald. Biography following the life of John James Audubon from the time he was adopted as a child and went by the name Jean-Jacques Foug� � re Audubon, to his immigration to the US, and his eventual work on "Birds of America". The author's note in the back includes bibliography and information on how she resolved conflicts between sources.
