About this title

Synopsis

Augustine and Evolution: A Study in the Saint's De Genesi Ad Litteram and De Trinitate is a scholarly work by Henry Woods that explores the ideas of St. Augustine on the topic of evolution. The book focuses on two of Augustine's works, De Genesi Ad Litteram and De Trinitate, which are considered to be his most important theological writings. Woods examines Augustine's views on the creation of the world, the nature of God, and the relationship between science and religion. He also discusses Augustine's understanding of the concept of evolution, which was not the same as the modern scientific theory of evolution. The book provides a detailed analysis of Augustine's writings and offers insights into his theological and philosophical thought. It will be of interest to scholars of theology, philosophy, and the history of science. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
