From representing South Australia as a schoolboy and amateur footballer to serving as fitness coach for the South Australian team that won the 1988 and 1993 Australian championships, Trevor Jaques has been involved in Australian football most of his life. He has played, taught and coached at all levels, serving in the capacity of fitness coach at the elite level for more than 20 years. This experience led him to become fitness director, runner and team selector for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League, positions he has held since the team's inception in 1991.
Trevor received his bachelor's degree from Adelaide University in 1975 and his master's degree from Michigan State University in 1982. As a senior lecturer in sport sciences at the University of South Australia, he teaches sport and skill analysis, sport injuries and football. Trevor lives in Adelaide, South Australia, with his wife, Trudie, and their two daughters. His extensive travels have taken him to 27 countries, with a highlight being trekking and rafting in Nepal. Besides traveling, Trevor enjoys snow skiing, reading and music and is an avid fan of American football.
