An interesting, nineteenth-century, guide to Austrian health resorts. A very scarce second and enlarged edition. Reprinted, by, permission, from 'The Times'. In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt detail. A study of health resorts in Austria, based on the author's personal experience during his time there with throat pain. Much of the first chapter appeared originally in articles published in 'The Nineteenth Century' and 'The Times'. William Fraser Rae was a Scottish journalist and author who edited for 'The Reader' and the 'Daily News'. With a bookplate for Percy Alport Molteno to the front paste-down. Molteno was an Edinburgh-born South African lawyer, politician and company director who served as British Liberal Member of Parliament from 1906-1918. In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt detail. Externally, smart with some light shelf wear and bumping to the spine. Joints starting but firm. Bookplate for Molteno on the front paste-down. Another bookplate and several closed tears to the front free endpaper. Internally, slightly strained but generally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot. Bookplate to the front blank. Light age-toning to the edges. Spotting to the fore-edge. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 829G8
