Authentic Spirituality

Authentic Spirituality is an invitation to discover the rich textures and contours of the catholic Christian tradition. The introduction explores basic definitions and directions essential for a proper beginning. Chapter 1 focuses on the key issue of openness, God to us humans and Christians to the whole of their spiritual heritage. Chapters 2 - 7 examine the dimensions of the present ministry of God's Spirit and the rich resources of Christian faith and tradition that illumine each of these dimensions. Chapter 8 suggests helpful paths for personally maturing spiritually in light of all these Spirit ministries and heritage resources.

Barry L. Callen holds earned doctoral degrees from Chicago Theological Seminary and Indiana University and masters degrees from Anderson University School of Theology and Asbury Theological Seminary and is Professor of Christian Studies at Anderson University. He has been editor of the Wesleyan Theological Journal since 1992 and is the founding editor of Anderson University Press. He has written or edited more than twenty books.
