Autobiography of Amos Kendall (Classic Reprint)

A revealing, firsthand look at a public life in early America, from editor to statesman. This memoir presents Amos Kendall’s career with clarity and humility, offering insight into the forces shaping a nation’s papers, policies, and public service.

The book foregrounds Kendall’s patriotism and public service, while keeping private life respectful and secondary. It pieces together the arc of a man who preferred impact over notoriety and who believed in the value of American youth learning from a life in the public eye.
