About the Author
Floyd Julius Hall was born April 10, 1952 in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. This small town lies some 31 miles southwest of Clarksdale, Mississippi, the city where he spent his primary years. Floyd has been published in both the Crevice of Illusion,(Volume 2) and the Sounds of Blackness Magazine. He was published in The Lincolnian Newspaper. He recently published , "The Autobiography of Rudolphia Rodgers Hall" available at Xlibris.com He graduated from Macalester College in December 1973. Floyd later moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he briefly managed two restaurants. During this period, his interest in the culinary arts emerged. The recipes in this book capture life in the Mississippi Delta. The cuisine in the Mississippi Delta is like a small bag of peanuts consumed with a bottle of coke. It's sweet, salty and effervescent. The cultural experience of the Delta and it's unique combination of ingredients are the basis for many of the recipes included in this volume. Other recipes included in this book are from the other experiences which are anchored in southern simplicity and complexity. The recipes in this book are evolutionary. They are drawn from Floyd's early childhood experiences, from his culinary experiences and experiments as a resident of Tennessee. Enjoy the salty, sweet, spicy, sour, bittersweet and effervescent recipes. Enjoy life !
