Floyd later moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he briefly managed two restaurants. During this period, his interest in the culinary arts emerged. The recipes in this book capture life in the Mississippi Delta. The cuisine in the Mississippi Delta is like a small bag of peanuts consumed with a bottle of coke. It's sweet, salty and effervescent. The cultural experience of the Delta and it's unique combination of ingredients are the basis for many of the recipes included in this volume. Other recipes included in this book are from the other experiences which are anchored in southern simplicity and complexity. The recipes in this book are evolutionary.
