Came back and found copyist had been idle. I cannot decide about copyist till we ? the sheets F. K. came all right but no newspapers yesterday, (Wed.) although they generally arrive on Tuesday. My wife gives her kind regards and best wishes. Yours truly R.F. Burton O [Mitchell] Esq. Sir Richard F. Burton was first posted to Trieste in 1872 and found it dismal. He wrote prolifically, translating Camoes and the Arabian Nights, and explored the antiquities of Istria, but he was powerless to secure a transfer to a more congenial posting.
