Autograph Letter, in the third person, to Monsieur Ravrio, Paris, reminding him about the replacement of certain glass components of the chandelier in the dining room, assuring Monsieur Ravrio that the chandelier is very beautiful.

Chateau de Dreveil, 28 July 1824. William "Kitty" Courtenay, 9th Earl of Devon (1768-1835), flamboyant and homosexual patron of the arts, left the family seat at Powderham Castle to live in New York and later in Paris. William Beckford developed a passion for young Courtenay, then in his teens, an episode which led to Beckford’s exile. Courtenay escaped his creditors by fleeing to America in 1811. In 1825-1826 he purchased the Château Dreveil in Paris. This letter concerns the chateau’s furnishings.
