Both men did memorable photographs of Winston Churchill, Karsh's being the more famous ("Karsh", Churchill said, "you have immortalized me.") Karsh, who had begun his career in Ottawa in 1932--shortly before Eisenstaedt joined the staff of LIFE--had achieved Churchill's famous bellicose expression by snatching the cigar from his subject's lips an instant before releasing the shutter. 1 vols. 8vo (8 3/4 x 6 1/4 inches).
