Stiff card note paper measuring 9 x 11.5 cm. Printed heading "St George's Lodge, Chesswood Road, Worthing". Dated 13/9?/1901. To: "Dear Mr. Richards", probably the publisher Grant Richards, sending the address of Charles Whibley and asking him to send "the thing" (prospectus?) as soon as may be. Also requests a prospectus to be sent to Leonard Whibley, Pembrooke College, Cambridge and to Lord Roseberg. He requests additional copies be sent to W. Heineman. There is also a two line PS regarding George Meredith. He closes the note "I hadn't time to read The Octopus carefully, but I was greatly impressed by it. Probably, indeed, I shall return to it later. Yours Sincerely W. E. Henley". About 18 to 20 lines. Fine condition. Bookseller Inventory # 09529
