O'Neilll is best known as author of "Wild Train: The Story of the Andrews Raiders." Original carbon typescript of brief essay, "Something Toward Raising a Flag," 5pp, 8½" X 11", Greens Farms, CT, n.d. [ca. 1961]. Very good. Interesting essay on Lincoln's journey to Washington in February 1861, perhaps written for publication in the "Lincoln Herald." Accompanied by an ANS, 1p, 5½" X 3½" postcard, Greens Farms, CT, 1961 February 11. Addressed to Arnold Gates. Fine. ".as you'll see by the enclosed. I couldn't agree with you more that the days & events between the leave-taking at Springfield & arrival at Washington were of top importance.".
