Thomas Watson, whose name has become synonymous with International Business Machines, joined the company in 1937, became President in 1952 and Chairman in 1961. Like other Eisenstaedt business subjects, he was grateful for the photographer's efficiency: he writes, ".with thanks for a rapid and pleasant job."
