Autumn Journal by Louis MacNeice, Hardcover, UK Edition, 4th Impression (Jan 1945). It appears that inside the back cover is a poem which is handwritten and signed by W. H. Auden. Book in good condition, without a dust jacket. The book shows cover wear, some bumping to the spine ends, a slight lean and some page ageing. An obituary of the author from the 'Daily Telegraph', dated September 4th 1963, has been taped to the inside front cover. A small piece has been cut from the inside front page and from page 11. A previous owner's name, a date (Oct 28th 1945), and 'From Joan' is inscribed to the inside front page. There is some wear to the hinge, which is evident internally to the back panel. (See pictures). 'Autumn Journal' is a much admired volume of poems by Louis MacNeice, the acclaimed Irish poet and playwright. Seller Inventory # 001158
