More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Rough cut pages. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is darkened. The longer the war lasted, the greater was its number, last it went into the thousands. On these units - destroyers, torpedo boats, speedboats, outpost boats, breakwaters, watch vehicles, and auxiliary ships, as well as many others - served the vast majority of all Kriegsmarine members. An overall view from historically appropriate distance, as it were a balance of the German naval warfare. Again and again, it becomes clear how little equipped the Navy was, when it came to all its expectations but again to a confrontation and the Second World War took its course. Not only the floating units are honored here, also in the post-war scriptum many "forgotten" naval parts ashore are represented - all in all a broad cross-section in words and pictures, where not all the operational missions come into play, but also always insight into the then state German naval technology is granted.
