Avatar the Last Airbender Boxed Set : Fire and Family Treasury

This new boxed set of Avatar: The Last Airbender--Fire and Family Treasury collects the standalone graphic novels Azula in the Spirit Temple, The Bounty Hunter and the Tea Brewer, and Ashes of the Academy. Featuring new box art by Peter Wartman and Adele Matera.

The Bounty Hunter and the Tea Brewer follows Iroh and the bounty hunter June, after she kidnaps the tea shop proprietor for the generous reward on his head. Iroh must confront a painful part of his past when June turns him in to a powerful tea cartel, but his journey inspires June to rethink her own life as well.

In Ashes of the Academy, Zuko continues his reform campaign in the Fire Nation—and this time he’s bringing it to the next generation of Royal Fire Academy for Girls students. When he finds Azula’s old school resistant to change, he enlists the help of Mai to both monitor the situation and keep an eye on his younger half-sister Kiyi—as an academy teacher! And it’s a good thing, because there’s more than schoolwork afoot!

Writer Faith Erin Hicks joins artist Peter Wartman, colorist Adele Matera, and Comicraft’s Jimmy Betancourt for the official comics continuation of the beloved animated series, created in collaboration with Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino.

Faith Erin Hicks is a writer and artist living in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her published works include The Adventures of Superhero Girl, Friends with Boys, The Nameless City trilogy, Pumpkinheads (with Rainbow Rowell), One Year at Ellsmere and the young adult novel Comics Will Break Your Heart. She has won two Eisner Awards, and Pumpkinheads was a New York Times bestseller.

Peter Wartman is a cartoonist and illustrator living in Minneapolis, MN who is definitely not a robot. He’s interested in telling all-ages stories about growing up and dealing with the messiness of the world (and in drawing cool fantasy cities and lots of sci-fi machines).


Adele Matera was born in Calabria, Italy. After completing her studies at the International School of Comics in Digital Coloring she began working as a colorist for Titan Comics on the Doctor Who comics series.

She moved to Rome and began working for the Italian market in 2017 for Sergio Bonelli Editore on Dragonero and Orfani. After in 2018 she began working for Dark Horse in Avatar: The Last Airbender, which she still works on today. She also works on Nero, Il Confine and Eternity for Sergio Bonelli Editore.
