À cet égard, l’avènement des munitions de précision à guidage hybride, c’est-à-dire associant des technologies de guidage par inertie, par GPS ou par laser, a permis cette avancée importante.
Dans ce secteur militaire comme dans d’autres, l’Asie connaît une montée en puissance majeure. Chine, Inde, Japon, Corée du Sud, Taïwan, ces pays misent sur le développement de leur industrie aéronautique militaire. Ils se sont lancés dans des programmes d’avions de combat de 5e ou de 6e génération.
