Synopsis

Awake in the Dark was of the most original and brilliantly-crafted novels I've read in a long time! I was completely drawn in from the opening scene and absolutely loved the author's style of writing. Very fast-paced, yet really descriptive and with detail and passion. My jaw dropped several times and I was shocked and saddened more than once. This is a mind-bendy, almost surreal psychological thriller/drama/ murder book that is definitely different from anything I've read. Recommend for adults only, and I really hope to read more from Mr. Laville soon. - Carla, Indie Book Reviewers
Warning, when starting this book make sure you don't have anywhere you need to be because you won't want to stop reading until you've finished it all!Awake in the Dark starts with an unforgettable beginning and just keeps going from there...I feel like I can usually see the "plot twists" coming a mile away. Not here.Very genuine and believable, but also creepy and haunting. Wow, Awake in the Dark by Paul Laville was awesome! I haven't read anything like that in a long time, if ever. For once it seemed like the characters were anything but the stock, ordinary typical hero/protag guys, but instead all had demons, motivations, secrets.A fresh-feeling novel that was out of the ordinary and kept me hooked throughout.I hope the author Paul Laville writes more like this in the future.
