Awakening (Alex Carter)

Alex Carter wakes up to a world that doesn't behave like it should.

What begins as fragmented anomalies-glitches in memory, patterns in conversations, systems reacting before decisions are made-quickly escalates into something far more structured and far more dangerous. This is not coincidence. This is design.

When Alex starts pulling at the edges of reality, he uncovers traces of something buried beneath everyday life: an invisible architecture of control, observation, and influence operating far beyond public awareness. The deeper he investigates, the clearer it becomes-he is not simply discovering the system.

He is inside it.

And it is aware of him.

As institutions begin to shift around his presence, and unknown forces quietly adjust the environment to contain or redirect him, Alex is forced into a question with no neutral answer: is he breaking into something hidden... or being guided deeper on purpose?

Alex Carter: Awakening is a psychological thriller about perception, control, and the fragile boundary between truth and design. It explores what happens when awareness itself becomes a trigger-and when seeing too much means you are no longer outside the system, but part of its response loop.

Nothing is random.
Nothing is safe.
And awakening is only the first phase.

Bruce Hagan writes psychological thriller fiction built around one core principle: systems reveal who people really are under pressure.

He is the author of the Stranded Island series and Alex Carter Series, both of which explore controlled environments, psychological escalation, and the breakdown of identity under structured stress.

His work sits at the intersection of thriller fiction and behavioural strategy-where survival is not just physical, but cognitive, emotional, and psychological.

Bruce builds narrative frameworks that feel less like stories and more like engineered environments: designed to test perception, loyalty, and decision-making at every level.

He is currently developing an interconnected thriller universe centred on escalating systems of control and awakening.
