Twelve-year-old Axle's life on the planet Mizmoe is difficult because he constantly manages to bend or break the rules at school and his father is missing, but his sudden transformation into a human boy leaves him no option but the Gate of No Return.
Rooster Morris grew up living the cowboy life. He spent several years as a ranch manager on a 52,000 acre cattle ranch in West Texas. In his spare time, he would play his fiddle for western dances.
In 2000, Rooster began performing for school children reading from books like Hank the Cowdog, Time Warp Trio, The Zack Files and the Unfortunate Series of Events. He spent three years touring the country sharing his musical talents and voice abilities with over two million children. His talent combined with a passion for performing has inspired and encouraged children to read. This experience is what led Rooster to begin writing his own book for children. His desire is for kids of all ages to enjoy reading.
Rooster went to work writing and spent two years on his first book. Axle Galench and the Gate of No Return will be released in both book and audio book form in the fall of 2004. This is the first book in a series for readers third grade and up. Reviewers are calling Gate of No Return "riveting, compelling, playful, and absolutely hilarious."
Rooster Morris was born in Ridgecrest, California September 16, 1955. He currently resides in Perryton where he is working on the third Axle Galench book, The Spin Lizard Rescue.
