I hope this work builds some new bridges to friends of all churches while repairing, replacing, and strengthening some old ones. I thought it would be a few days completing it, but I did not stop reading until I had finished the book. Testimonial in nature, it is captivating - a good story teller with amazing quotes. The format is also captivating. The candid acknowledgement that the comments following the doctrinal statements are the author’s simplified understanding of them is refreshing and illustrates the appeal for doing the book. The inclusion of the author’s cartoon drawings and tracts is a very different and interesting approach. And, there are some good outlines that may find their way into others’ sermons along the way. Utterly amazing is the inclusion of music - using songs to illustrate and magnify the subjects being discussed. To know the songs and to have spent the time to get permission for using them is amazing. Accessing and enjoying the music is definitely a most unusual feature of this work. The author of this book is a man of many talents, wide interests, and experiences who has had some good mentors.
