This is a reproduction of the 1916 Black Arrow published by Scribner's with the wonderful Wyeth plates. The hardcover book with the front pastedown is pristine and bright; however, the jacket is torn and battered. I have put a mylar sleeve on it, which helps. Swashbucklers in 15th-century England, during the Wars of the Roses. Historical novel first published by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1888 takes the reader along with young Dick Shelton, who embarks on a quest to avenge his father s murder. Dick forms an alliance with the quixotic, mysterious outlaw, "Black Arrow" hence the title. The two encounter challenges involving chivalry, honor, and treachery. 327 pages, divided into V books. Fourteen full page plates by N.C. Wyeth. No past names or unwanted marks.
