Black Morocco Half Leather with white cloth sides, Gilt titles to spine, 275 x 200 mm approx. Issues 1 to 25 of the Black and White (Budget) Transvaal Special reporting on the Boer War1899/1900. Written by war correspondents and featuring many b/w photos, sketches and portraits this weekly magazine was intended not only to keep the general population informed of the progress of the war but to serve as a recruiting medium. The reports are very much of the day and somewhat biased but nevertheless have merit as an historical military record. VG ( Recently re cased in it's present livery . Some occassional sporadic mild foxing and tanning to some margins but generally very clean). Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale.
