About this Item

This is a UK SIXTH edition hardcover published by Adam and Charles Black in 1876. The book is in Very Good condition for its age with straight spine, sharp corners and firm spine ends. The covers are faded as you can see but the gilt logo on the front is intact. When you open the book the front seam is split but the binding is tight and intact, with heavily toned page edges and clean text. The title page confirms the book is the sixth edition published in 1876 and there is a fold out map, with additional illustrations throughout the book.

I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. ALL parcels sent to the UK and USA are tracked. USA tracking I update immediately the book is sent, but UK tracking details are only updated when 10 working days has passed. If you live outside the UK tracking is NOT provided unless you choose priority mail. There will be times when, due to the value of the book, I will insist on extra postage and this will be clearly stated in my listing. If you ignore this, your order will be refused.
