TOGETHER WITH THE PSALTER, OR PSALMS OF DAVID." having imprint as Philadelphia: George, Latimer & Co., 1834 and initial pagination through page 288. Followed by second book bound-in as pages 1-59 "PSALMS, IN METRE, SELECTED FROM THE PSALMS OF DAVID; WITH HYMNS, SUITED TO THE FEASTS AND FASTS OF THE CHURCH, AND OTHER OCCASIONS OF PUBLIC WORSHIP." having imprint as Philadelphia: George, Latimer & Co., 1833. Followed by third book bound-in as pages 1-50 "HYMNS, SUITED TO THE FEASTS AND FASTS OF THE CHURCH, AND OTHER OCCASIONS OF PUBLIC WORSHIP." having imprint as Philadelphia: George, Latimer & Co., 1833 plus statement "Stereotyped by L. Johnson" on title page verso; Lawrence Johnson (1801-1860) was a prominent Philadelphia type-founder. Hardcover: H 15cm x L 9.5cm. Original full calf leather binding, rubbing and staining to boards with several patches of surface peeling, board corners worn, some surface scuffing to spine leather with spine's thin-ruled horizontal gilt bars still discernable but no trace of spine's title lettering. Some toning, soiling, and light staining to edges; past owner's old signatures and other writing as well as small drawing all in pencil on front free endpaper recto and verso; light to mild foxing throughout with scattered soiling and staining; old pencil writing on rear flyleaf verso; odd paper loss to curvilinearly trimmed rear free endpaper. Several early leaves slightly pulled but binding is firm. A good antiquarian copy.
