Very good indeed in full leather binding, with inlaid antique ivory panels to front and back, with brass edges. With a brass hinged clasp. Front ivory inlaid board has a mounted carved ivory cross. Gilt rules and gilt decoration to five compartments on spine. Second compartment has gilt titles. All edges of text-block gilt. Gilt hinge clasp complete and unbroken [these fastenings are delicate and often damaged]. Integral brown silk reading ribbon. Front free endpapers have been removed. Title-page present. Contemporaneous book seller ink stamp to bottom of front pastedown: 'Sold by Field, 65 Regent Street' [London]. Owner's name: 'Nesta Margaret Bates' in pencil to top of front pastedown. Pages clean. Small crease to page fore-edge to last few pages. Outer page edge of rear free endpaper slightly creased. No foxing. Spine tight. ***118 mm x 76mm.
