DS. 4pp. 7 x 12 . August 1, 1879. Boston. A lengthy agreement between Bostons Union Stone Company and Bostons National Wood Pulp Company, though it was incorporated in Connecticut. The document agreed that the National Wood Pulp Company are the sole and exclusive owners of the patents for making Allens Patent Wood Pulping Engine for the manufacture of Wood Pulp; and are desirous that the said Union Stone Company should exclusively manufacture said machines under said patents for the entire supply of the demand of the paper trade and of the public generallyThe said National Wood Pulp Company do hereby agree to give, under the following conditions to the said Union Stone Company the sold and exclusive right, power and authority to manufacture said machines and each and every constituent part thereofsaid Union Stone Company that they will not themselves nor suffer any other party or parties to manufacture machinesUnion Stone Company hereby agrees to manufacture said machines in a good and workmanlike manner, furnishing all the materials and labor of construction, at their own cost and expenseNational Wood Pulp Company hereby agrees to pay Union Stone Company for each machine manufactured for them the sum of four hundred dollars in case, when completed, or in good and approved paper bearing interest. If the form of said machines or the character of their manufacture be substantially departed from in reference to the standard referred toIt is already in contemplation to manufacture a larger machine than the standard referred to, with iron base and legs, larger rolls up to twenty-four inches in diameter by twenty-five inches in length, with pulleys, shaft of larger size, all according to a new specification which has been agreed uponshall be seven hundred dollars each. The document is singed by a number of officers for each company, and impressed with the respective seals of the Nation Wood Pulp Company and the Union Stone Company. There is some minor soiling to the last page, but it is in fine condition overall.
