An incredible tale of courage and friendship between a little boy and a friendly bear.

When a boy finds himself lost in the woods during a family outing he feels bold and brave ... until it starts to get dark. As night falls and he begins to feel scared and alone, he meets the most unexpected of friends - a gentle bear. The two curl up together under the watch of a shining star until daybreak and the little boy is found. But was the bear really ever there?

Inspired by the amazing true story of a three-year-old boy who went missing in the woods for two days, and told his parents that a kind bear kept him safe.

Pip Cornell studied Graphic Design at Preston Polytechnic, graduated with an MA in Narrative Illustration from Brighton University and in her publishing life she’s been submerged in stories for over twenty years; working as a picture book Art Director for some of London’s best-loved children’s publishers. Pip lives in London.

Stef Murphy is a freelance illustrator and storyteller. She loves drawing animals and making up stories, achieving her playful style and varied textures using rollers, sponges, brushes, and sometimes even twigs. Her work has been shortlisted for the Oscar's Book Prize and the Polari Prize. She lives in Norwich.
