This small book is in poor to fair condition, normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. The hardback cover is a thick board with cloth spine which has come away from the main body after the title page, please see photos. It has the R.M.A Sandhurst stamp on the inside cover page and the introduction page. The staples have rusted over time. The introduction page states that this book consists of extracts from the late Sir John Fortescue's "History of the British Army" which was published in 13 volumes between 1899 and 1930. All 372 pages, text and illustrations are in reasonable order. The book was intended to serve as an essential background to the future study of Military History.
