Also an appended chapter containing notes on "Their Preparation as Food Products" by Georgetta Witter. 4 x 6" 40[8]p. Illustrated with numerous black and white captioned photos. Rear pages include a [List of] Brother Jonathan Series of Fruit Books; Premium List of Agricultural Books; and period ads. Laid in is a "Half-Price Coupon" on yellow paper printed in red for "The Fruit Grower" and/or "'Bro. Jonathan' Fruit Books." Stapled booklet in color pictorial wrappers with a vignette on the front wrapper of a woman carrying a pan full of berries. Wrappers darkened along the spine and along the top edge of the front wrapper, front wrapper slightly faded, two-inch scuff mark on front wrapper, wrappers lightly soiled, corners square and flat, small ding to leading edge of textblock, just touches of rust on the staples, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. Half-Price Coupon in near fine condition. At the bottom of the front wrapper there is a date of 1906 and above it the following information: Printed for the Government of British Columbia, for Distribution Amongst the Members of Farmers' Institutes, by Request of the Hon. R.G. Tatlow, Minister of Agriculture." Booklet also has short descriptions of various varieties, e.g., of raspberries: Cuthbert, Miller, Turner, Haymaker, Columbian, Older, Gregg, Eureka, and the like. A.T.
