Anonymously printed. 96 pages with a 32 page publishers catalogue at rear. 16 full page engraved plates. These images are in the style of the early 19th century chap-books for young children. States the writer "A French Lady", but we think the author is that stated, also wrote under a pseudonym "The Chatterer". Original blind stamped cloth with gilt titles, spine has worn at edges with boards just showing in places, minor wear to edges and a little faded at edges, a loose not inserted and an inscription in the same hand Cicely Maude Slade, from Uncle Henry's Library. Epping Vicarage, 1873 inside front board and on note with an address "Pithill, Petworth. "This is a clever little book to keep for Louis". Good+ to VG. Seller Inventory # 2154
