About the Author

Quilting is a long-standing tradition in Susan Emory's family. She is a fifth generation quilter and turned her hobby into a business when she bought a quilt shop in 2006. As a graphic designer, Susan was inspired to design quilts and formed Swirly Girls Design in 2008. In addition to quilt patterns and books, Susan is a licensed designer for Michael Miller Fabrics, Dill Buttons and Creative GridsTM. She eventually sold her quilt shop to focus on design and teaching. Susan is actively involved in the quilting industry, a member of the International Association of Creative Arts Professionals, a member of Central Virginia Modern Quilt Guild, and an AurifilTM Thread Specialist. When not traveling and teaching, she lives at home with her husband, Mike, in Moseley, Virginia. They have three adult children Muriah, Alyssa, and Chance.
