About the Author
Julie Diebolt Price, President of JDP Photography, is an award-winning photographer, educator, and passionate traveler. Her company s tagline, More than just a shot in the darkSM , gives you insight to her philosophy. Known for her personal style, cutting-edge photographic techniques, and keen ability to capture a story and have fun in the process, has led to numerous industry awards and recognition over the past 20 years. Julie earned a degree in business administration from the University of LaVerne and worked 30 successful years in the corporate sector before becoming a full-time professional photographer. Her thought provoking photos have earned her awards from Professional Photographers of California and Orange County, National Geographic Traveler Magazine, and Photographer s Forum Magazine, among others. She has guest lectured at the Bowers Museum, PPA Western States Convention, Orange Coast College, Women Photographers of California, Public Relations Society of America, and For You Network. She is currently teaching Basic Digital Photography classes throughout Orange County, California and the Pacific Northwest. Julie s photos, especially an impressive series of lighthouses and doorways from around the world, have been featured in a variety of national art exhibits. Her favorite exhibition was 17 pieces from her collection of lighthouse images at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. Her images have also graced the covers of Italian America and Digital Photographer magazines in recent years. As an early adopter of digital photography in 2001, Julie began teaching in small group and private tutoring sessions. In 2006, she designed and implemented digital photography classes at Santiago Canyon College in the Community Services department and is currently growing that series of class offerings. Drawing on her many years in Corporate America, Julie has built her business on serving corporate executives with portraiture, photographing corporate and public relations events, and producing photographs for publicity materials such as brochures and websites.
