About the Author: I am an orthopedic spine surgeon who has been performing complex spine surgery since 1986. It is my observation that most spine surgery should never be performed. A significant part of my practice is helping patients out of a deep hole caused by multiple failed spine surgeries. I have learned that the central nervous system is the key player in the development of chronic pain. Unless it is addressed further surgeries seldom are successful.
