Edition: Thirteenth impression. 12 full-page color illustrations by Maria L. Kirk. Binding: Hardcover, red pictorial cloth, gilt lettering to spine and front board, illustrated in gilt with a crescent moon and figures on front cover. Condition: Good. Binding sound and tight, cloth bright with light shelf wear to corners and spine ends. All 12 color plates present and clean. Front free endpaper carries a period ownership inscription in pencil, “Was from ___ Mary — 1924,” along with a printed gift label from “Mrs. R. F. Bolles, Cohasset, Massachusetts.” Text block clean and unmarked apart from the inscription. A charming period association copy of this classic MacDonald fantasy.
