First Edition. Ex University of California, Berkeley library book. No DJ. Book has been rebound into hardcover by the library. Some soiling to page edges. From the Preface: This is the report of a field study of social and social psychological factors in Puerto Rican fertility. Given the Puerto Rican demographic situation, that is, the coincidence of very high fertility, diversity, and dependence on agriculture, the presence of a problem in public policy is obvious. Additionally, little information about the dynamics of fertility patterns in transitional areas is available to demographers. The goals of the project were to secure as much information as possible which would throw light upon those basic attitude patterns and life conditions which affect fertility levels in Puerto Rico.
