About this Item
8vo (21 x 13 cms). xxiv, 620. Leather; the spine with 5 raised bands. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. The sixth edition, revised and enlarged. CONDITION. Externally poor, internally very good. The boards much scuffed; the spine even more so: gilt tooling all but invisible, title label missing: further detail perhaps unnecessary. Joints and hinges sound, however, and everything between the shabby covers is very good, the text block firm and square, the gilt edges bright, the pages clean. On the flyleaf an owner's prominent signature in ink; on the front paste-down a bookplate (R O B Lane, KC, presumably the West London magistrate of that name and rank who was pictured with his magisterial colleagues in The Graphic, 29 November 1902, and whose death was reported in The Law Times, 2 January 1915). Store Description
I normally use Royal Mail. Shipping rates are based on the cost of sending a 1kg parcel or, for two books, a 2kg parcel. Two rates are quoted. These are: for the UK, Royal Mail's first class post (for priority service) and second class post (for standard service); for the rest of the world, Royal Mail's international standard rate (for priority service) and international economy rate (for standard service).
Books are normally placed in a plastic sleeve, bubble-wrapped, and mailed in purpose-made book boxes, although I may sometimes use padded envelopes for small paperbacks.
The "international rate" applies only to continental Europe and Eire. If you live elsewhere postage costs for the priorty service will be higher (the standard service rate however applies to all oveerseas countries).
Book sizes are given in centimeters, to the nearest half centimeter, and refer to the text block, not the binding.
