Revised in 1994, It's Not as Bad as It Seems: A Thinking Straight Approach to Happiness (with a Foreword by Albert Ellis, Ph.D.) was written to help readers find and eliminate various forms of "stinking thinking" that often block the search for happiness and contentment. I believe in helping people become their own therapists, and my book provides a straightforward approach to attacking problems such as depression, anger, anxiety, relationship problems, and low frustration tolerance. It is written with the goal of getting the reader involved and offering opportunities to practice using the principles of rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) being presented. We may be powerless over other people, places, and things, but using the methods presented in my book, you can become POWERFUL over your thinking, feeling, and behavior.

Included in the 196 pages are 10 chapters such as, Why Can't I Be Happy, The ABCs of Thinking Straight, When the Shoulds Hit the Fan, Just the Facts, Folks: How to Get the Shoulds Off the Fan, Getting the Sharks Back in Their Cages, I Feel Like Pond Scum!: The Story of Ruth, We Never Talk Anymore: Working on Relationship Problems, It's Like I'm Going to Die!: Coping with Panic and Anxiety, I Can't...It's Too Hard!
