Balance of Evil (FIST)

"A thriller for readers who like their conspiracies vast, their heroes bruised, and their secrets radioactive."—Literary Titan

A retired mining executive finds a titanium USB drive on a beach in Cabo San Lucas. The world he thought he knew ends in the next forty-eight hours.

What Scott Barton has uncovered is FIST—the Force for International Supremacy Taskforce—a secret pact signed by Eisenhower and Khrushchev in 1959 that has been choreographing global conflict for over sixty years. Every war, every coup, every engineered crisis has been part of a balance designed by two superpowers who agreed long ago that peace was less profitable than managed chaos.

The men who built FIST do not intend to let Scott live long enough to expose them. What follows is a chase across continents—Mexico, Canada, Tel Aviv, Zurich—as Scott discovers that the people he loves have been pulled into a war they never signed up for, and that the only way to survive is to become someone he no longer recognizes.

What Scott finds is darker than a conspiracy: a system of disinformation, hidden money, and engineered politics that has shaped the world readers thought they were living in.

Balance of Evil is a globe-hopping political thriller about the cost of finding out what the world is actually made of. For readers of David Baldacci, Robert Ludlum, and Vince Flynn. For anyone who has ever wondered who is really in charge.
Can one man tip the scales against FIST, which has been running the world since before he was born?

Book 1 of the FIST trilogy. Book 2, Lies, forthcoming late 2026.
