2 volume set. 5th ed. (n.d. c.1869). 356; 419pp. Original green cloth with elaborate bind border decoration to boards and gilt titles and decoration to spines, yellow endpapers. Both vols GOOD copies, bindings square but vol. 1 loosening a little, some minor marks to cloth otherwise clean and bright, slightly worn at edges and corners, crushing to spine ends, gilt still reasonably bright, starting to crack at hinges, some occasional light pencil marginalia, otherwise internally very good. Ex libris ink name of G. L. Butler, Cliff House on ffep in both vols, with additional note in vol.1 that the book was given to Butler as a prize by the Irish judge and historian William O'Connor Morris (1824-1904). Another ink note of vol.1 rear pastedown notes the Panegyric of Black Thomas Butler (p.123), suggesting the inscriber to be a descendant of the Butler dyntasy. Seller Inventory # 024596
