About the Author: Jane Balme is Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia. Alistair Paterson is Lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Western Australia. He has taught archaeological field and laboratory schools since 1999. He has published in Australian Archaeology, Archaeology in Oceania, and contributed to the Encyclopedia of Historical Archaeology (Charles E. Orser, ed. 2002).
