While it has a underlying theme of theology and temperance it contains interesting information about alcohol, its level in various intoxicating drinks, how beer and distilled liquors are made, the effect of alcohol on health, crime and nation. 112 pages followed by 16 pages publisher's book list, attractive b/w frontis, art. plus diagrams, sketches throughout, some full page plates, Book is undated but appears late 1800s/early 1900s. Light brown hard covers nicely colour decorated front and spine, with gilt titles front/spine, slight wear spine extremities/corners, tiny worn spot rear cover vertical edge near top, internally excellent, no inscriptions.
