8pp extract, printed in double columns, illustrated with a head-piece by Fenn, salvaged from a damaged issue of The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine, Volume LXXVI, #2, June, 1908. A somewhat scathing commentary on the patriotic celebration of Independence Day, July 4th. From the text, "Of all these 'noise-fests,' the most shocking is Fourth of July, and its grim statistics probably furnish a sadder commentary on human folly than that afforded by any other celebration in the world." Housed in protective mylar report cover.
