About this title

Synopsis

Barcelona is a vibrant Mediterranean metropolis of immense cultural pride and heritage. From Picasso to Hemingway, Gaudi to Dali, this sun-struck city has played muse to many great creators in the past, and its thriving contemporary arts scene continues to deliver. Fashion-forward boutiques and independent ateliers rest side-by-side with design emporiums. Gastronomy plays a major role in the city, and you'll fi nd everything from trendy brunch spots to Michelin-starred marvels. Catalonia's ten official wine regions ensure Barcelona is constantly brimming with tempting wine bars and bodegas, while the booming craft beer scene will rouse even the most hardcore of hopheads.

Barcelona Precincts offers a curated list of the very best places to be in Barcelona's 12 hottest precincts, including Born, Raval, the Gothic quarter, Eixample and the old fishermen's quarter of Barceloneta.

About the Author

British travel writer and blogger Ben Holbrook moved to Barcelona from his native Wales in 2009 with the intention of staying for a year. But after discovering the joys of Spanish wine, he succumbed to the city's allure and has no plans to leave. As the son of two travel agents, Ben was a born bon vivant, and has always relished the sense of novelty and adventure that travel provides. Ben contributes to a number of global travel publications and writes luxury hotel reviews for The Telegraph in the UK.
