Reviews
PreSchool-Grade 1—Vibrant, cheery spreads illustrate this fun, imaginative song by a folk musician and singer. Three children sail in a hot-air balloon over land and sea, near and far, through the clouds and to the stars. As with many songs turned picture book, the refrain ("Up, up, up, up in a balloon./Up so high I can touch the moon…"), which flows nicely when sung, becomes repetitive and tedious on the page. The accompanying CD features two instrumental versions as well as a pleasing, folksy rendition by Reed, and musical notations are appended in the book. An additional selection for picture book and CD collections, especially where other titles in the "Singalong" series and Reed's albums are popular.—Rachel Kamin, North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, Highland Park, IL
